As a standalone solution, ScheduleReader displays the project data from existing schedules in Views much similar as the one in the Primavera P6 application, apart from P6, and all without connecting to any database which allows incredibly large files to be opened in less than 3 seconds.

In ScheduleReader, project participants such as managers, foreman, team members, contractors, subcontractors, and others can have complete visibility and view schedule data by navigating through the different project views such as:

♦ Activities                                    ♦ OBS                                        ♦ WBS

♦ Roles                                        ♦ Projects                                   ♦ Reports and Dashboards

♦ Resources                                ♦ Progress Update                     ♦ Assignments

♦ Linear Scheduling View           ♦ Project Expenses

Tracking Project Progress

Project information for activities, WBS and projects is given in an organized table view with a corresponding graphical Gantt chart. With these views, a user can see how the smallest work package (activity) is scheduled, the WBS (the phases that project is composed of) of the project, and the placement of the project plan itself in time.

Information for resources, assigned roles and the OBS can be seen in tabular like views with same names as the category that is seen. Here user can view various information for the project team, which roles are assigned to the project team and the organizational structure.

By clicking through the different views in the top Menu, users can quickly navigate through different data in the schedule. Additionally, they can use filters and auto filters, groups, sorts, and other settings while inside each view, to quickly find the needed information.

Different customisation to the views can also be freely performed, such as toggling the Gantt Chart on and off, changing colours to bars and labels, adding or removing columns to the tabular view, changing the added information views in the Bottom sections, creating custom layouts or importing existing through .plf files and more.

The Activity view also features the Trace Logic view, a very useful view for detail analyses of specific portion of the project plan, where users can see the immediate predecessors and successors of particular task, their current status and assigned resources, scheduled dates, etc.

Baselines and Earned Value Analysis

A Baseline is a referent point in time from which incoming project’s performance may be compared. They are an essential part of every project plan. ScheduleReader fully supports the Baseline feature, allowing you to insert up to four baselines for each project. Variations between baselines is visualized using a Gantt chart, with color-coded baselines and presented with unique bar style and with by various baselines columns in the activity table.

Progress Update

One of the most important mechanism that every project plan must have in the execution stage is to have implement quality status report procedure. Usually, companies have weekly status reports in case of short and middle range projects and monthly status reports for long-range projects. In a good business process, the project manager, or in some cases the scheduler, is in the middle of the project information flow: he/she receives the updates from the team members, makes analysis to be sure that the project milestones will be completed and then creates project plan reports for the upper management.

ScheduleReader introduces a unique approach to ensure operational excellence.

Users can also propose new tasks to be included in the schedule, or mark activities that should be removed, all while staying in read-only mode and without making any changes to the original file.

These proposals for the updates are saved in .xls/.xlsx file, created when ScheduleReader is in collaboration mode and located on the same location where the .xer file is saved. By importing the .xls/.xlsx file in Oracle Primavera, project scheduler can decide which updates will be accepted and which will be rejected.

Reporting

With ScheduleReader you can create graphical reports to compare, analyse and communicate key project data. Pre-defined templates are available, as well as options for creating custom reports.
