Synchro Server

Synchro Server (Server5, Server10, and Server) is an IP-based 4D Construction Simulation Model Server, which ensures the fast communication of information changes to each connected user while managing the single project model.

This capability allows dispersed planning and scheduling teams to access a common, central model and repository of planning information stored to alleviate communications, coordination, version control and scheduling issues.

Synchro Server is the bridge between project participants.

Changes made on one Synchro Client workstation – whether it is Synchro Professional or Workgroup – are synchronised with the central model and immediately broadcast to all other connected participant users to keep everyone updated constantly.

Collaboration through Synchro offers the opportunity to distribute planning and scheduling responsibility, retain a complete audit record for the analysis of all user activity and keep the project model and information under control at all times.

Functionality

Synchro Server receives and processes client update requests on project information and:

  • Ensures data integrity between concurrent client requests.
  • Broadcasts information updates to each connect Synchro client.
  • Provides transaction history, logging and rollback.
  • Provides user access logging and display of currently connected users.
  • Its built-in firewall provides enhanced security.
  • Lightweight, compressed protocol reduces bandwidth requirements.

Views

Synchro Server provides information views to support administration of the Synchro application suite, including:

  • User connection status.
  • Current connections' display of currently logged-on project users.
  • Transaction history.
  • Server logging of project specific events and activity.
  • Integrated logging to the Window Event Log for centralised error reporting.

Deployment

Synchro Server is deployed using the application installer and is run as a windows service to minimise administrator overheads.
